- Kindly place your entire order at once, rather than, say, ALmost all of it, and then the rest just as I process the transaction. Two transactions take twice as long. 
- The prices are nothing to do with me. 
- Just because you are a rah, does not mean you are better than me.
-I will kill- actually kill- the next couple to indulge in any form of PDA right in front of my till. No joke.
- I don't care if you work in the catering industry. Especially if you still order a pig-guts hotdog. 



Also: we've all been to the cinema right? When there's a queue, you can't miss that there's a queue.  Unless you're some of the many, MANY people tonight that apparently did. Just waltzed past. And then got pissed off when I sent them to the back of it. Idiots. 

Ho hum. It's not actually that bad. Only sporadically so.

  More cinema related ranting.

- if you've just spent the last 15minutes in a queue (give or take....and not my fault either) why don't you spend some of that time DECIDING WHAT FILM YOU WANT TO SEE.
- it might also be an idea to get your wallet/purse/whatever out, as you will, believe it or not, have to pay for your tickets.
- it makes me laugh (but also annoys me) when people order a veritable banquet of shitty cinema food, only to follow it with 'and a diet coke', with a little self satisfied smile that says 'get me, I just made the healthy choice'. Yeah. Ok.

There are more. But the battery's about the go on the laptop and I'm tired.

  I hate that cinemas have late shows.

Actually I don't. Only when I'm working. Until midnight.

Though it wasn't as bad as I'd thought it could be. I did my cleaning jobs and got off on time so it was ok. Manically busy though; the busiest periods seem to be almost exactly the same every day and yet they still never seem to have enough staff. When we went on Monday it was heaving and there were huge queues, but even though it was annoying I really felt for the people working because I know now how sodding annoying it is. You just want people to STOP COMING IN. And give you a chance to catch up. Obviously this doesn't happen. And then, tonight, there was this uber-annoying guy, who (when picturing the scene remember there's a massive queue behind him....)first took ages deciding what he wanted (WHY DON'T PEOPLE COME TO THIS DECISION WHILE THEY'RE QUEUEING?????) and then, having decided he wanted nachos, proceeded to give me a detailed description of exactly how he wanted them. The cheese had to be just HERE, and the salsa had to be just HERE, and could he have a separate tray for the jalapenos, and then could he have popcorn, and could he have one THIRD (exactly) sweet, and then salted, and then sweet. And then maybe, maybe he wanted a drink, and then OH, wait, maybe some pick and mix too. I swear to God.....

He was annoying. I really wanted to let everyone in the queue know that he was the reason they were waiting at least an extra five minutes (probably ten, he had an annoying friend) as well.

I've also really started to judge people for what they buy. And what they buy their children. But seriously; people buy SO MUCH. Like, popcorn and a drink (why not go large??), pick and mix, and why not get some ice cream as well? Or they do a combo meal (drink and popcorn/nachos/hotdog) and then get pick and mix or one of those big pots of sweets. Or they get nachos and a hotdog as well as what seems like every-bloody-thing on the stand. I didn't even know people ate the hotdogs. I can't imagine which part of the pig the meat comes from. And the nachos; it makes me really quite angry having to serve people the cheese sauce. It looks like toxic waste. I don't like the general public for quite significant proportions of my shifts.

Still. Money money money and all that. Though because I only worked for two weeks in July I won't get paid that until the end of August, when I'll get everything until that point. That's fine, only I actually have no money. I had to extend my overdraft today. I'll work it off, but I hated doing it. At least the bank man was nice. Flirting is fun.

Ho hum. What else is new......I've actually begun reading for next year (shock horror). Usually I say I'm going to do that, and then never get around to it. I think it helps that I'm genuinely massively looking forward to all my modules next year, and thus far have really enjoyed the reading. I haven't started reading Shakespeare yet, but I will, and I'll love it. The way my seminar tutor likes to structure the seminars (a bit; there really isn't any fixed structure) is to assign each person a certain 'knowledge' and then for each of us to study the week's play with particular focus on that part. Obviously we haven't actually been given assignments yet, but we will come September. My knowledge is cosmology/the planet/ the order of the universe. We got to choose our own as far as could be accommodated, and I'm really looking forward to it. I've also really gotten into the reading for my depression module; I've already begun reading a bit around it as well. Shock horror.

Apart from that, I'm actually really enjoying summer so far. Still got a couple of trips to London planned as well, and Katie Lintott's 21st at the end of August. Vietnam reunion.....massively overdue, but still. Might try and get something organised for September. Exciting stuff.

I should go to bed soon. Am knackered. Might have a bit more wine. Who knows. My cousin Triona is coming to visit on Sunday. Should be nice; I haven't seen her for years, which I feel really bad about. Haven't even been to Ireland for years. I really want to. Maybe I'll go in September.....

  Midsummer Night's Dream last night. Amazing. I really was only expecting a handful of people to show up, and certainly to stay for the whole thing, but the Piazza was full. Full. 200+ people came, and stayed for the whole thing. And loved it. Epic. Shoot/Get Treasure on Monday went really well as well; I was absolutely terrified, but it worked, and apparently it was bloody good. I got toilet feedback (random compliments from random people)which for me is always the sign that you did something right. Those people are under no obligation to say nice things. I seem to have a knack for choosing the best things to get involved with drama-wise. A skill I'm glad I have. Haven't actually managed to SEE anything yet this week, but hey. I will.

Massively not looking forward to packing. I've done a bit. Token packing. But it's going to be long. As is cleaning the house. Everyone else did a massive clean on Monday, so I missed it (hahahahaha) but there'll still be stuff to do before we leave. Yuck. 

And still need to get a job. Of course. Have a phone interview today for a job reviewing in Edinburgh, but need money for the rest of the summer and to fund that if I get it. Fun times.

I have my first exam tomorrow and I've been triyng to revise this afternoon and I really don't think there's anything else I could do. I've re-read everything that could come up; I've re-read two or three extra plays; I've gone through key themes and brainstormed and I've done as many past papers as I can find. I feel prepared, but I still feel like I should do some more work. Might plan a couple of essays. And read through everything again. Could do some work for exam on Saturday but actually, would rather keep mind focused on tomorrow. 

Had my last counselling session today. Genuinely don't know when I've felt this good about......everything. Seem to have finally managed to get my shit together. At last. Should obviously have done this sooner.

Busy couple of weeks coming up now as well. I'm in two plays for WSAF this year, Midsummer Night's Dream starts rehearsing on Saturday, and the other one has already started. One of my best friends is directing the other one, which is great fun. I get my tongue cut out at the end, too, which should be interesting.... I'm going to have lots of rehearsals. And lots of lines to learn. Woop.

Need to get a job for the summer too.....by the end of term.......
And actually can't wait for Prague. Can't wait for the whole summer, but really can't wait for Prague. I'm going to paint my bedroom in the summer as well......I don't want a turquoise bedroom any more. 

SO. I am really, really happy. What a genius feeling.

   Got a first in my Freud essay! God knows how I managed that. 

AND, I got the Representing Depression Module that I didn't think I was going to get onto for next year. Bring on twice weekly meditation (and meditation get-away weekend at some point...). 

AND Arcadia's been going well. Got a great review, everyone seems to be loving it. Lovely stuff. Only have one performance left now, a pity, especially as it's all exams exams exams (and Midsummer Nights Dream, which is good) afterwards...

  Have swtiched my degree from English and Theatre to 'straight' English. Amazing modules next year, can't wait.

Have also started couselling sessions with the uni couselling service. I've always been a bit sceptical about it, but it's fantastic. Should obviously have done this a long time ago.

Arcadia next week; massively looking forward to it now. Went through a bit of a crisis stage for a couple of weeks, thought I was generally shit and would bring the show down, but now feel that things will be ok. The asisstant directir, John, is amazing and we've had a couple of fantastic rehearsals in the last few days that I think have made everyone, not just me, feel alot more confident. Tickets are going fast as well, which is always nice. 

Audition for Midsummer Night's Dream today; going to be put on at night, at midsummer, during WSAF which sounds amazing. Fingers crossed. 

Life in a nutshell: Alot better than would have been expected before this term started. Hate to be pre-emptive, but may, possibly, have started to get my shit together. About time.
